A fabulous fashion shot from our designer friends David and Marion Donaldson.

David says: "This photo, taken by a Daily Express photographer, shows a model wearing a Marion Donaldson evening blouse with velvet skirt on the Govan Ferry, circa 1975.

"The ferry was more often used by the 'ladies' from Betty's Bar, on the north bank of the Clyde, plying their trade with the visiting crews of the coal ships moored on the south bank of the Clyde."

Although I never visited the legendary Betty's Bar, I'm told the ladies of the night used to chalk their prices on the soles of their shoes, before putting their feet up to catch a willing punter's eye!

Captain's outfit, model's own...
