Magnum photographer Chris Steele-Perkins took this brilliant if depressing image in 1975, while documenting the last days of the old Plantation.

Look, in the background, and you'll see the 'Four Winds' tower of the old Hydraulic Power Station, at Prince's Dock.

Strange as it sounds, as a wean, I was fascinated to see all the different wallpapers revealed by the demolition of the old tenements, with their interiors, fireplaces and wall presses opened up for all to see like some kind of grim, architectural autopsy.

And I hope that guy has brought his wellies... you can just see the top of the hat of the last guy to chance walking through that puddle!
